ArtCentre of Plano

If you enjoy experiencing new art exhibits, you’ll want to visit the ArtCentre of Plano, TX. It was founded in 1981 and has evolved with time. The gallery displays art from both national and local artists. They also host traveling exhibitions, and have an outdoor performance deck in a very nice, scenic setting.

In addition to offering amazing art for visitors to explore, they also have art classes for adults and children. The Centre is located in the historic Saigling House and can be rented out for event space of up to 450 guests.  The Saigling House was completed in 1918 and was then transformed to become a gathering spot for the art community.

Currently on exhibit are the Paintings by Abi Salami. She is a self-taught artist who creates large-scale surrealist works that depict her Nigerian immigrant and black woman experiences in the U.S.  She won the 2021 Hopper Prize and has had her and her work featured on the New York Times, Washington Post, Patron Magazine and more.

Some of the textile exhibits at the ArtCentre of Plano has work from Christine Miller, who has had a fiber art career since the early 1980s. Love color? You’ll enjoy Marie Renfro’s exhibit of oil and water media art pieces. The photography exhibit on display is by Gaby Pruitt. She was born in Venezuela and raised in Oklahoma. Gaby is a member of the Plano Art Association and has a private studio near downtown Plano.

The ArtCentre is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm. After you view the wonderful exhibits on display here, you can go next door and check out the Courtyard Theater. If you decide to do some more things around the city but need a little help with funds, go here and we will be happy to assist you.
